Stanley Produce was founded in San Francisco in 1941 by a father, Manuel Corriea and his sons, Stanley and Charles Corriea. From the beginning, the business was built on a simple idea. Take care of your customers, stand behind what you deliver, and your name will mean something in the market.

Long before products like Belgian endive and radicchio were widely known...

...or readily available in the Bay Area, Stanley Produce was sourcing them for chefs and buyers who were pushing boundaries and raising standards. Introducing these specialty items was not about trends. It was about listening to customers, understanding where the market was headed, and doing the extra work required to source products properly.

That forward-looking mindset became part of the company’s identity.

In 1962, Stanley Produce moved into the San Francisco Wholesale Produce Market, where it continues to operate today, deepening its role in the region’s produce community and strengthening long-standing relationships with growers and suppliers.

In 1974, Stanley Corriea Jr. began working at the market at the age of sixteen. Starting as a driver, he learned the business from the ground up, building relationships in the early mornings and earning trust through consistency and follow-through. Many of those relationships continue to this day and remain foundational to how the company operates.

Following Stanley Senior’s retirement in 2002, Stanley Jr. became president and owner of the company. Under his leadership, Stanley Produce expanded its facilities, broadened its product offering, and continued adapting to a changing marketplace while staying grounded in the values that built the business in the first place.

Today, Stanley Produce distributes a full line of specialty produce throughout the Bay Area...

...with particular expertise in domestic and wild-grown mushrooms, Belgian endive, radicchio, and other carefully sourced products. Still family run after four generations of the Corriea family, the company continues to treat customers like family and approach every order with care and accountability.

Stanley Produce has never focused on being the largest name in the market. The focus has always been on being dependable, informed, and easy to work with. Giving back to the Bay Area and serving the community that supported the company from the start remain guiding principles.
